I co-led zinemaking workshops on both days of Gender Bender 2022. Our workshops invited participants to collaborate, dissent and play using Gender Bender 2022's exhibits as their launchpad. Over the course of the afternoon, folks came together to cut, paste, doodle, and reimagine gender through zines with us. (Some pizza and karaoke may or may not have been involved 👀)
We also curated a collection of zines on gender through an online crowdsourcing campaign, that we contributed to the pop-up feminist library at the festival. Our collection of 120+ zines ranged from intimate reflections on body image, to exploring identity after the 1947 Partition; to the rights we have at a pharmacy to a comic-style observation of the 'ladies seat' in the metro. Attendees could flip through, read, and even add to this collection, which was housed in a cosy nook.
